The composition and sealing principle of mechanical seals

Date:Nov 26, 2019

Mechanical seals have developed rapidly in recent years due to their advantages such as low leakage and long life. Various structures have appeared according to different working conditions, but no matter which structure has the following parts: The first part consists of a moving ring The sealing end face composed of a static ring is sometimes also called a friction pair; the second part is a buffer compensation mechanism composed of elastic components as the main parts, and its role is to tightly fit the sealing end face; the third part is an auxiliary sealing ring, of which There are moving ring and static ring sealing ring; the fourth part is the transmission mechanism that makes the moving ring rotate with the shaft. The structure of the mechanical seal is shown in Figure 1. Through the driving seat 6 and the push ring 4, the driving ring 2 is driven to rotate, and the static ring 1 is fixed. Prevents medium leakage. After the surface of the friction pair is worn, compensation is achieved by the pushing of the spring 5. In order to prevent the medium from leaking between the moving ring and the shaft, a moving ring seal ring 3 is installed; and the static ring seal ring 7 prevents the medium from leaking along between the static ring and the gland 8.
